Okinawa is a prefecture located in the southernmost part of Japan. Okinawa Prefecture consists of hundreds of islands called the Ryukyu Islands and the islands form a chain whose length of more than 1000 km.
In the Japanese system of government, said the prefecture used to translate the administration area, more or less synonymous with a state.
Okinawa terlatak among southwestern Kyushu (the southernmost island of the four main islands of Japan) and Taiwan. Senkaku Islands (Diaoyu Islands) are being contested also includes the administrative area of Okinawa Prefecture.
